Dr. Amy Gonsier, an experienced and talented general surgeon with a specific interest in breast cancer, has dedicated her practice to breast cancer and other diseases of the breast. She realized a great number of her patients suffered from breast issues and it would make sense for her to focus on this particular area of medicine.
Dr. Gonsier likes being part of the excellent cancer program at Good Samaritan Hospital because of the high-caliber physicians that make up her interdisciplinary team.
A graduate of the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, she’s also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
She’s excited by recent advances and innovations that allow her to provide effective diagnosis and treatment using procedures that are far less invasive and much more patient-friendly. Other advances have allowed Dr. Gonsier to remove far fewer lymph nodes than was once possible in the treatment of breast cancer.
A San Jose-area resident, she is a long-distance runner who enjoys marathons and half-marathons, cycling, kickboxing and Pilates. Dr. Gonsier also likes spending free time with her husband and son.
